Aragonite
A stunning divergent spray of long Aragonite crystals from the famous Eskett mine near Frizington. Label notes state that this specimen dates to the late 1800s from the collection of H.H. Freedman about whom nothing is known. There is damage to the tips of many of the crystals, as would be expected with something of this age, but some are pristine and all are like glass, so amazingly clear and reflective. From a distance it looks beautiful and is an excellent size for Cumbria, at 9.7 cm in length. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 2012.069.
