Norbergite
Two orthorhombic orange-brown Norbergite crystals on white marble matrix from the famous Lime Crest Quarry, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA, source of the world's best Norbergite crystals. The largest crystal on this small miniature specimen, reaches 8 to 9 mm in length and a second, on the edge of the specimen, about 4 mm in length. Both are euhedral and the larger of the two displays excellently. Norbergite is a member of the Humite group of minerals which are notoriously difficult to identify, but in the case of individual localities like Limecrest Quarry, where detailed analytical studies have already been performed, visual identification is possible. A small, but fine example of Norbergite crystals.
