Wulfenite
Although not exactly a scientific term, cute accurately describes this plate of intergrown Wulfenite crystals from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. The Tsumeb orebody is world famous for the variety of spectacular minerals it produced for almost 100 years and throughout much of the mineralised karstic pipe was found Wulfenite, a lead molybdate. The variety of Wulfenite colours and associations found at Tsumeb would appear almost infinite, aptly demonstrated by this fine miniature of malty, light clove brown tabular crystals all displaying a stunning brilliant, almost metallic, lustre. Individual crystals measure up to 7 mm wide and are intergrown producing a substantial group with no additional matrix.\n
