Calcite
Specimens seldom come our way from the Buick mine at Bixby in Iron County, Missouri, USA and it is great to be able to offer this fine and well-priced golden Calcite on Quartz. This large mine works a Pb-Zn-Ag-Cu-Co-Ni-Cd polymetallic deposit and has been operating since its discovery in 1960. Two almost identical, tall and elegant scalenohedral Calcite crystals rise vertically and in parallel side-by-side from an irregular, massive Calcite matrix coated in tiny milky Quartz crystals. The Calcite crystals measure 6.5 and 7 cm tall and are a translucent golden yellow becoming gradually paler towards their terminations. An excellent cabinet specimen of Calcite from Buick mine, Missouri.\n
