Nickeline
How often do you see Nickeline crystals? It might seem a strange question, but Nickeline invariably forms rounded masses devoid of any obvious crystals. This specimen is the exception. It is from the mysteriously named Prospect 24 at Schwarzenberg, Erzgebirgskreis, Saxony, Germany and is a fascinating piece. Miniature in size, it is still obvious that this specimen is remarkable for Nickeline. It is composed of many, often quite large, hexagonal Nickeline crystals. The crystals range in size from an impressive 2 cm across to 1 cm and below, and show a dappled colour from more typical pinkish metallic to grey. Nickeline of the absolute highest quality. Ex. Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) collection.
