Wire transfers available, to set up
From the George and Charlotte mine, close to Tavistock in south Devon, England. A group of fine Childrenite crystals occupy an approximately 2 x 1.5 cm shallow vug in a mixed Quartz, Pyrite and Chlorite matrix. Childrenite is a complex hydrated phosphate containing iron, manganese and aluminium and is famously associated with the George and Charlotte mine, close to Morwellham Quay, 35 km north of Plymouth. The Childrenite forms good-sized, equant crystals averaging 3 mm of semi-transparent to translucent toffee to clove brown. A good example and impressive specimen of Childrenite, a quite rare hydrous iron-manganese-aluminium phosphate. Two very old collection labels accompany the specimen.
