Hematite var. Kidney Ore$350.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A hefty section through a 12 cm thick layer of fibrous banded Hematite. The top surface appears to have been polished and the overall specimen has the appearance of being well handled. However, this a great example showing good layered banding, characteristic fracture surfaces associated with the variety known as "Pencil Ore" and rounded bands typical of the variety "Kidney Ore". Added to this is the fabulously detailed provenance - from GB 4 Pit, Lindal Moor mine, near Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. It is thought that 'GB' stands for "Gillbrow", the location of the shaft. Due to the weight of this specimen additional postage charges may be required.
