Baryte with Dolomite$500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A well developed, double terminated Baryte crystal rests in parallel on a layer of biscuit tan Dolomite crystals covering pearly white massive Dolomite. Although the exact mine is unknown, this rather charming large miniature is from the Frizington mining district of the West Cumberland Iron Field, now named Cumbria, in north-west England. The Baryte crystal measures 5.7 x 2.1 x 0.8 cm and varies from translucent to quite transparent near to its terminations. Its colour is a creamy pale straw yellow, yet more straw than yellow with a highly reflective, bright glassy lustre. A really terrific Baryte from west Cumbria. This specimen is from the Mike Brooke Collection which Crystal Classics purchased in 2022.
