Description
This quite unusual Fluorite is from Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, Myanmar. Consisting of a dome-like mass of almost pure (and quite dense) Fluorite, the upper display surface is covered in what appear to be stepped triangular crystals, but are in fact the corners of many twinned, intergrown, cubic crystals. The crystals are mostly in perfect condition, but there is one minor mark on one of the upper crystal corners. The colour ranges from a grey with a slight purple tinge to, with back-lighting, an attractive pale mauve. This is one of the more unusual specimens within Arvid Pasto's fine Fluorite collection (no. AEP1097).
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
