Fluorite
A 'Fluorite mine' at Valzergues, Aveyron, Occitanie, France has, over the past 30 or more years, intermittently produced fine Fluorite crystals in a variety of colours. The orange, or sometimes called "Honey" coloured crystals are extremely desirable due to their intense orange colour compared to other world occurrences. This small cabinet specimen is an extremely large cubic crystal of an intense orange colour with good glassy lustre. The longest side is over 7 cm in length! It is not totally complete, with a couple of the lower edges missing (one corner cleaved), but the three main edges of the uppermost cubic face are in great condition - just minor chipping on the lower left hand edge in the main photo - and the back of the crystal is quite substantial. The intense orange colour is consistent throughout, with some internal frosting visible inside the main display face. A very large, and high quality specimen of this desirable colour from Valzergues.
