Fluorite with Chalcopyrite$450.00

This is a really interesting 'modern' Cornish Fluorite. Modern, meaning within the last 30 to 40 years. With really precise provenance, placing it as from [Level] 15 East, 11-15 Decline at Wheal Jane, this is a really great piece. It comes from Glyn Cunnick's collection of British minerals with his label. To the specimen itself: it consists of part of a rather large (7 cm across) sea green Fluorite crystal, one or two edges of which are overgrown by colourless to faintly purple tessellated cubes of Fluorite (to 1.6 cm on edge) interspersed with small Chalcopyrite crystals and minor Quartz. These colourless Fluorite crystals are glassy and have grown parallel to each other meaning that when light reflects off one, it reflects of them all in tandem. There is damage to the corners of several of these later Fluorite crystals but this is not obvious due to their colourless appearance. There is also a small amount of Tippex applied to one side of the specimen. A really interesting cabinet specimen.
