The Jos Plateau, Plateau, Nigeria is well-known for well-formed colourless Topaz crystals. This individual crystal from the Kwandonkaya Complex at Jos Plateau is a really good size, at 4.3 cm across. Colourless and glassy, the crystal has many internal features including wispy orange streaks of possible iron oxides along fracture planes. The top of the crystal displays lovely faces of textbook form, with only very slight edge wear. Down the sides the lower edges of the crystal are missing, but with a flat base it displays very well. From a well respected German collection.
