Fluorite
The Collada mine in Asturias, Spain produces eye-catching distinctive Fluorite crystals. Colourful, complex, and sometimes large, the crystals are like a work of art. This large miniature specimen doesn't disappoint, comprising a complex aggregate of at least 7 intergrown cubic Fluorite crystals, individually to over 20 mm across, each showing the trademark complex chamfered edge modifications. The beveled edges display a somewhat crazed surface appearance, contrasting wonderfully with the immaculate glassy interiors. The central 'square' section of each crystal face is glassy, translucent to transparent, and pale violet to pale blue in colour, contrasting with the darker purple edges. A really attractive example from the stunning find in Josefa-Veneros vein on the 75 level.
