Kermesite
This excellent small cabinet specimen of malty flesh pink Pyromorphite is from the Rosenberg mine at Braubach, Bad Ems, in the Rhineland-Palatinate State of Germany. This copper, lead and silver mine is situated on the northern slope overlooking the River Rhine and was worked until 1963. The Pyromorphite forms rich continuous clusters of acicular, slightly barrel shaped crystals, some double terminated and all with flat pinacoid terminations. These cover a Quartz matrix plate, the base of which is richly coated with small terminated milky Quartz crystals. This is a very reasonably priced specimen and is accompanied with three former collector's labels.
