The Collada mine in Asturias, northern Spain has produced some stunningly beautiful Fluorite crystals and Fluorite-Calcite combos. They are beautiful in both crystal form and colour. This small cabinet specimen is a prime example, blending the classic complex modified cubic crystal form with celestial colour tones. At at least 4 cm on edge, these really good sized Fluorite crystals display the iconic crazed chamfered edge modifications with glassy centres. The chamfered edges display the usual darker purple colour, contrasting with pale lilac to powder blue internal faces. Colourful and complex, these La Collada Fluorite crystals are like a work of art. Internally, the crystals are transparent to translucent and look absolutely stunning when backlit. This specimen specifically comes from the 75 Level on Josefa-Veneros vein and dates back to an early find.
