This type of twinned Orthoclase crystal is known as a "Carlsbad twin". It is from the Karlovy Vary District in the Czech Republic. Karlsbad, or Carlsbad, is the old name for Karlovy Vary, meaning that this "Carlsbad twin" is from the very place where this type of twinning was discovered and named. The overall shape of the crystal is good, but a fine intergrowth of Mica (possibly "Zinnwaldite") has pitted the crystal faces. Having said that it still looks great and being from the area of the original occurrence makes this really special.
