Parisite-(Ce)
Parisite-(Ce) is a rare cerium, lanthanum and calcium fluoro-carbonate, this superb miniature originating from the wonderfully named Snowbird mine, at Fish Creek, Alberton, in Mineral County, Montana, USA. The Parisite-(Ce) forms several tapering, reddish to cinnamon brown, terminated crystals capping a matrix of white Calcite. The Snowbird mine worked a carbonatite-hosted fluorite deposit, yet only operating from 1956 to 1957. This is an excellent specimen of this rare species, whose dual type localities are both in Colombia.
