QUATRANDORITE formerly Andorite IV
Formerly known as Andorite IV, the mineral Quatrandorite is a rare silver lead antimony sulphosalt, renamed in 2022. This large miniature specimen is an aggregate of extremely large bladed Quatrandorite crystals, individually to over 3 cm across. San José Mine, Oruro Department, Bolivia is widely accepted to have produced the best of species crystals of 'Andorite' and these extremely large crystals were reputedly from a discovery in November 2004. Most of these larger crystals lose their definition on the crystal edges and faces, but this specimen is staggeringly good considering how enormous the crystals are. There is damage to some of the edges of crystals, but the majority are in superb condition. This is a museum quality specimen of Quatrandorite showing multiple, well-defined, large crystals of this rare species.
