This very large miniature specimen from Horní Slavkov (Schlaggenwald), Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia, Czech Republic is an absolutely superb matrix Cassiterite specimen. This region is famed for its tin mines and many specimens of Cassiterite have been preserved in collections, but only a small percentage reach this level of quality. The Cassiterite crystals might be on the smaller side, at between 3 and 8 mm in size, but they are extremely glossy, black and well formed and stand out really nicely against the paler matrix. An Eastern European Cassiterite of the highest quality.
