JAMESITE with Tsumcorite$500.00

This miniature specimen is actually quite a large specimen for these Tsumeb rarities. A relatively dense, solid matrix, forms about half of the specimen grading into a vuggy, open texture with cavities lined with extensive 1 mm thick crusts of orange-brown acicular Jamesite crystals which are often overgrown by khaki-green Duftite microcrystals. Most of the Jamesite is seen in cross-section, but a few small areas display freestanding acicular microcrystals within cavities. One area shows bruising to the delicate crystals, but others display excellent form. One, 5 x 4 mm area of mustard yellow-orange Tsumcorite displaying a porous acicular form is visible infilling a cavity. A further thin veinlet of green Duftite follows one edge of the specimen. Three old labels accompany this specimen, the earliest two recording its history from Okavango (Rolf Fahle) to Dr. Hans-Jurgen Wilke in 1984. A very rich specimen of Jamesite from the Type Locality.
