Microcline on FLUORO-Richterite
Fluoro-richterite is a rare sodium-calcium amphibole containing magnesium and fluorine and is found at what is now known as the Gibson Road East occurrence close to Monmouth Township in Ontario, Canada. This locality was discovered by a mineral collector in about 1995 and has since produced seven species, often occurring as very fine crystals. An excellent 1.7 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm translucent buff Microcline crystal perches on top of a crystallised mass of Fluoro-richterite with numerous tiny Microcline crystals scattered in clusters over the surface. An interesting and fine large miniature from this enigmatic locality.\n
