Description
This thumbnail specimen is an extremely well-provenanced Tsumeb mine rarity. Recorded as from 44 Level, Tsumeb mine, this Ferrilotharmeyerite specimen was obtained by Dr. Hans-Jurgen Wilke (1925-2014) from Cureton Mineral Co. in 1993 - the year that Ferrilotharmeyerite was described. The Ferrilotharmeyerite forms much of the specimen, as tiny golden yellow glassy microcrystals filling cavities throughout the matrix, with several excellent, green, waxy, Zincolivenite crystals displaying the classic wedge-shaped form, exceptionally to 4.5 mm in length. Another superb Tsumeb rarity.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
