Quartz var. Herkimer Diamond
This miniature specimen from the famous Ace of Diamonds mine features a perfect, doubly-terminated Herkimer Diamond Quartz crystal, 1.3 cm in length, sitting snuggly within a cavity in dolostone matrix. The cavity extends out to the side of the specimen allowing light to pass through the back of the Quartz crystal. A pretty Quartz specimen from this classic Eastern USA locality.
