Opal replacement of Clam Fossil$950.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A very representative, interesting example of the phenomenon where opal replaced a fossil clam/bivalve shell, leaving us with a specimen of fossil made out of opal! In this case, you get good rainbow colors. The piece is a little bit opaque, only partially translucent, and hence the low price for a specimen because it simply does not contain much value in facet rough (which is how they are priced from the sources, all opal dealers). Of course, this is good for us collectors, who do not want to pay by the cuttable carat size! These are Dinosaur-Age: Cretaceous in age, about 100 million years old.
