Description
A unique specimen of red beryl, the manganese rich variety of emerald, from the one and only location for large crystals in Utah. This was collected long ago by Rex Harris (1980s-1990s or early 2000s at latest), and has long since been in the collection of Marty Zinn of Colorado. Recently sold or exchanged out, dealer Cal Graeber obtained and prepped it, cleaning the crystals beautifully. This is one of the very, very few rich, matrix specimens containing more than a few isolated crystals at all. In fact, I have seen a few plates with larger crystals scattered about, and some few bigger specimens; but I cannot recall seeing such a rich cluster with this many crystals in one place - ever! The largest is 6 mm across, and most are 3-4 mm in size. Small, but together unique and impactful.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
