At over three and a half inches in length, this long prismatic, limpid Quartz crystal from the McEarl Mine in Arkansas is perfectly formed! The McEarl pocket, found by miner Jimmy Coleman, is the finest single pocket of quality quartz found to date in the region, adn one of the few named quartz pockets in all the world to stand the test of time. They are simply better than the rest, in a general sense of subtle quality factors, and remain legendary crystals to this day. Prism and pyramidal faces on this crystal are sharp and crisp with a near perfect termination. It displays the typical, but very subtle, horizontal striations on all of the prism faces with glassy terminal faces. There is a tiny cleavage (damage) at the tip, visible on close examination. it could go to the lab to get a small bit of restoration there but, it is also very good as is and you do not see the damage from afar so I left it au naturale. This beautiful single comes with an old Wright's Rock Shop label from the 1980s when the material came to market. Richard Rossi collection.
