Spessartine
From the late 1990s and early 2000s, shocking gem spessartine garnet crystals came out of this remote area of Brazil. The best of them, as does this one, shows both shape and subtle surface patterning that makes these instantly recognizable to anybody in the collecting world today. The location has produced almost nothing since. This is a perfect miniature, with both shape and patterning (but not too much nor too little of either!), and stunning gem color when backlit. Old material, seldom seen in quality today.
