Fluorite and Sphalerite
A duo of tightly intergrown, saturated, sea-green, octahedral crystals of Fluorite are locally accented by brown-gray crystals of Sphalerite or Geocronite. Here is another new (2020) Peruvian combination specimen with a translucent green Fluorite that is just gorgeous when backlit. It has a preferential growth of Sphalerite crystals on the largest octahedral face (although some are likely geocronite according to new data, we have not analysed them on this piece so will not commit to saying which it is...as geocronite is more valuable, perhaps). These metallic crystals average about 3 mm in size and almost completely cover that particular face.
