Description
A textbook-sharp Sapphire crystal from Burma featuring a single, gem, doubly terminated, aesthetic thumbnail specimen from Bill Larson's Burma collection. This is not the usual single crystal that tapers at each end, which is rare enough, but is dominated by a lustrous, sharp, tapered, lustrous, pyramidal termination, while the other end is is well terminated by a flat termination (pedion face). It is a crazy contrast, between the two terminations, as they are so different! The crystal has a lovely light blue color, sharp, textbook form with triangle-shaped pyramidal faces that are horizontally striated and the entire crystal exhibits an adamantine luster. The Sapphire crystal has sharp faces and edges with only one trivial nick at the tip probably from a minor amount of stream transport. The Sapphire fluoresces purple-red in long wave UV and has a mass of 9.5 grams.

How this data is collected: Our system continuously monitors mineral listings from authorized dealer partners across the internet. We have explicit permission from all dealers whose listings we track - any dealers who have not provided specific and explicit authorization are NOT listed and NOT tracked by our system. When a previously available listing is marked as sold or removed from sale, we record this as a completed transaction. While we cannot guarantee the exact final sale price (as negotiations may occur), this data represents publicly listed prices for specimens that have transitioned from "for sale" to "sold" status. This provides valuable market insights based on observable listing behavior patterns.
