At 96.2 grams, this is a beautiful aquamarine from the Shigar Valley, famed for the aquas found there. The top half of this specimen is water-clear, and interestingly, about 2 cm from the termination, a horizontal layer of some curious internal features (inclusions? odd crystal formations?), suspended eternally within the aquamarine. The 3cm thick crystal has a sharp, glassy termination, with complex contact formations along one prism face of the hexagonal blue beryl. A superb, classic Pakistani aquamarine with no damage or repair.
