Calcite
A cream-colored limestone stalactite has developed such that it ended up penetrating the surface of a lagune of water rich in dissolved calcite, causing the latter to crystallize into a white crystal at the stalactite's extremity; this crystal's perfectly horizontal base precisely reflects the surface of the lagune.
