Bazzite
Bazzite is the rare scandium analogue of beryl found in few localities worldwide in miarolitic cavities in granites, granite pegmatites and in Alpine veins associated with pegmatitic minerals. A 2.0 cm, deep blue, gemmy and lustrous bazzite crystal is set in a 3.5 cm, quartz-lined vug in granitic gneiss matrix. This is a large and very uncommon crystal for this rare species and hails from mineralized clefts on Gjaidtroghohe Mountain in the Hohe Tauren Mountains of Austria. Ex. Mullane Collection.
