Description
The La Viesca mine is world renowned for the quality of its fluorite specimens. Especially notable from the mine are the glassy blue specimens with the modified cubic form displaying a combination of hexahedron and rhombododecahedron forms which is often referred to as a cube with beveled corners. The color is quite a lovely delicate blue that is very hard to capture in a photograph. The luster is top notch and serves to highlight the growth hillocks that cover the front, top, and sides of the fluorite cube. The back of the cube is etched and has a complex and interesting surficial texture. Simply a great spanish fluorite.
