Laurelite (type locality)
Details
Description
One of the best from a one-time find. Ex. Les and Paula Presmyk collection with label and this was their only major duplicate from the find, which is best-of-species! Divergent fascicles and felted aggregates of white laurelite on drusy quartz embellish the display face of this important piece. This is a very rich specimen of this exceedingly rare lead fluoride-chloride from a one-time find at the Christmas mine, the type locality. Individual, white, prismatic, silky crystals are up to 5mm in length. The matrix is a breccia containing quartz, anglesite, fluorite and other species.
Origin: Grand Reef mine, Klondyke, Aravaipa District, Graham County, Arizona
