A machined-looking, sharp, compound group of Hematite plates with bright gunmetal luster from the famous iron mines in Ouro Preto, Brazil. This handsome piece has a larger, 5 cm crystal in the back composed of several plates all in parallel and slightly staggered parallel growth that transition into two separate clusters, one that is 2.5 cm across that is in parallel growth with the larger one and then another stacked, tapered grouping offset at an angle on the bottom right that measures 2 cm across. It is complete all around with only minor edge wear at the periphery (common and acceptable for this material). A very sharp miniature of a thick, unusual style for Brazil, more common from high mountain Alpine deposits. Recovered in late 2023.
