Pyromorphite
Balliway Rigg lies south of Roughton Gill in the area known as Higher Roughton Gill. This area requires little introduction as part of the Caldbeck Fells in the northern extremity of the English Lake District in Cumbria. This good-sized cabinet specimen of light lime green to mustard yellow drusy Pyromorphite covering an iron-stained Quartz veinstone is well priced at $100 and makes a terrific display specimen so characteristic of Balliway Rigg. It is accompanied with two labels, one an ex. stock label from the William (Bill) Creighton Mineral Museum at Cockermouth. Bill also owned and ran the much loved Grove House Gallery in Keswick, a regular haunt of many UK collectors.
