The La Morita mine lies in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico, only about 150 km south of the border with New Mexico. The mine works a hydrothermal Baryte vein and since about 2019 has produced some fabulous specimens of Wulfenite. This large thumbnail has three intergrown acidic yellow Wulfenite crystals perched on a sucrosic textured milky white Quartz, itself coated with micro (and I do mean micro!) druses of very pale lemon Mimetite. The Wulfenite crystals are translucent, of a stunning vibrant colour and have a highly reflective and glassy lustre.
