With its longest dimension at 7.5 cm, this small cabinet specimen is a rich mixture of rare oxychloride minerals together with the lead carbonate Cerussite, from the mineralogically complex Mammoth-Saint Anthony mine at Tiger, Pinal County, Arizona. This mine is only 50 miles north-east of Tucson and is marked by the large opencast pit named the Magma Copper Open Pit. This mine has a recorded 110 mineral species of which it is type locality to eleven, exactly 10% type species, a remarkable ratio! The specimen is rich in massive and crystallised areas of bright azure blue Diaboleite. Also occurring with this are previously identified minor occurrences of Boleite and Cumengeite, although I have to point out Cumengeite is not recorded on the mindat list for this mine. This does not mean to say it does not occur on the specimen, but I am unable to confirm this. Snow white Cerussite forms micro-crystallised sucrosic druses amongst the blue oxychloride species. A showy and impressive group of rare species from Mammoth-Saint Anthony mine.\n
