Azurite
A magnificent miniature Azurite crystal of truly stunning aesthetics from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. The stubby double terminated crystal shows no point of attachment and is either a floater or was attached in situ via where a little pink dolomite adheres to the crystal faces. The Azurite is intensely dark blue to the extent it appears jet-black, but flashes electric-azure-blue in certain light. It has mirror-like faces on all sides and all with a brilliant lustre. The prism and termination edges are sharp and where a little conchoidal chipping can be seen (requiring magnification), this has occurred in situ as micro-granular Dolomite partly covers such patches. A wonderful Tsumeb Azurite.
