Description
A beautiful specimen showing two generations of Pyromorphite richly coating a flat, thick plate of Fluorite-rich matrix, composed of pale lemon and lilac areas of Fluorite. A seldom-seen specimen from the rare locality of the Rossignol Fluorite vein at Chaillac in France, a locality known for its multiphase hydrothermal mineralogy. The first phase of Pyromorphite deposition manifests as light clove-brown acicular crystals to about 5 mm. Clustered on their terminations are 1 to sub-mm second generation light creamy-buff Pyromorphite crystals. A Pyromorphite unusual for both its habit and location.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
