Description
Pasto Bueno is actually a group of mines in the Pampas District Pallasca Province in Peru, set in the most spectacular mountainous landscape with mine buildings appearing precariously perched on the near vertical valley slopes. Rhodochrosite from these mines is exceptional and this small miniature is the most delightful and mouth-watering of specimens. If you become the purchaser, then be sure to order napkins to mop those drooling chops! Perhaps more sugar candy than bubble gum pink, three intergrown rhombic crystals of translucent Rhodochrosite form a beautiful cluster with a preferential coating of 1 mm snow-white Calcite crystals. The colour is wonderful and this cannot fail to make a superb impression in any miniature collection. A little minor Fluorite and Pyrite is also present.
