An arresting large miniature double pseudomorph of intense sky-blue Chrysocolla replacing Malachite after Azurite and coated in Quartz, from the magnificent recent find in the Tenke-Fungurume area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in Central Africa. At least 13 former tabular Azurite crystals, now pseudomorphed to Chrysocolla, form a V-structure when viewed face-on, or may be viewed as more a towering tight cluster of multiple pseudomorphs sitting at 45 degrees to a Chrysocolla-coated matrix. Of the two opposite splayed faces of composite Chrysocolla pseudomorphs, one covers a 4.5 x 3.4 x 0.5 cm thick pale salmon-pink and rusty-tan Dolostone matrix. The tabular Chrysocolla crystals, independent of the matrix, attain 5.3 cm tall and form a composite group with many terminations laying flat against adjoining crystals. Those Chrysocolla pseudomorphs laying against the matrix form a similar morphology and are developed to approximately 2.5 cm long. These taper towards Gothic window-like terminations and are entirely encrusted with sparkling micro-Quartz crystals with a bright glassy lustre. The Chrysocolla is a stunning sky-blue and throughout the base and the cross-section of a snapped crystal can be seen their remnant cores of deep leafy-emerald-green Malachite. Micro-crystalline Malachite rosettes to 9 mm sit on the face of one group and individual tiny Malachite crystals are dusted over the free-standing crystal faces.
