Otavite with Rosasite and Cerussite
Otavite, a cadmium carbonate, was the first new mineral to be discovered at Tsumeb, being named in 1906. This was the very first new species for which Tsumeb is the type locality, with this total presently standing at an amazing 76 species. This is a very rich specimen with many well defined sub-mm creamy to creamy-yellow Otavite crystals filling void space within a Rosasite and likely Malachite folded matrix. Small glassy light grey to colourless crystals of Cerussite are scattered over this most pleasing specimen.
