MARSHITE with Cerussite and Malachite$7,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A sublime Marshite specimen, one of the essential Broken Hill classics, but very rarely obtainable with such a rich profusion of crystals. The Marshite crystals are scattered over the top surface of a gossan matrix of mixed country rock, Cerussite and Malachite with a sooty black manganese oxide and orange-buff limonitic coating. The Marshite, a copper iodide (CuI), is a pinkish-carmine-red and areas where crystals have become intergrown can measure up to 1 cm across. The species was named for C.W. Marsh who first described it and is from its type area of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. A wonderful specimen that would grace any Broken Hill collection.
