NATIVE Copper
A magnificent cabinet specimen of Native Copper forming an elongated robust branch-like structure of thick chunky Copper crystals from the 'Copper Country' of the Keweenaw Peninsula of Upper Michigan, USA. Crude Copper crystals to 4 cm are roughly aligned parallel to the long axis of the specimen with a little attached white country-rock in the deeper crevices and especially on the base. The base is naturally flattened, so providing a stable surface to rest on. In general, the Copper has a rich, tarnished reddish-copper patina, but on those crystals that protrude more have a brighter lustre. The specimen is accompanied by an old Dr F. Krantz label. A beautiful Native Copper specimen from this most famous of localities.
