Smithsonite
A showy, top quality specimen of colourless-milky-white Smithsonite crystals forming globular crystal aggregates of typically 3 to 4 mm diameter over a matrix of semi-metallic, mid-grey Coronadite. Coronadite is a rare lead-manganese oxide which, in this specimen, occurs as cemented granular crystalline grains forming a porous, vuggy matrix. The specimen is from the MMM mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. A showy specimen of these two classic species from the iconic mining district of Broken Hill, Australia.
