Baryte
A transparent, terminated tabular Baryte crystal with many visible internal fractures along the cleavage lines with a certain amount of internal rainbow iridescence. This specimen was found in a mud-filled cavity 400 feet from the portal of Middle Level, on Middle Vein and on the left-hand wall on the north side of the flat at Hilton mine in Scordale, Cumbria (formerly Westmorland). This crystal was collected in the early 1970s by Lindsay Greenbank and is accompanied with his collection label (No. L.G. 266).
