NATIVE Gold

Rich leaf Native Gold are seen atop the specimen and cutting though the Calcite matrix. The leaves of Native Gold measure to 2cm by 1.2cm with a light metallic yellow colour. Close examination of the Native Gold shows the surface has micro-triangular growth patterns on it. A well formed translucent brown-red crystal of Sphalerite measuring 4mm can be seen grown on the leaf of Gold. There are several other crystals of Sphalerite in and on the Calcite matrix. A metallic grey-black mineral is in close association with the Native Gold. A rich specimen from Romania.
