NATIVE Silver
Native Silver is another Broken Hill classic and this spectacular and very fine example is from Browne's shaft at Junction mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Richly coating a greenish-yellow creamy Calcite matrix are masses of knarled and tangled Native Silver wires, some to about 1.5 cm long and many probably longer if not contorted and intergrown. Most of the crystals are oxidised to a matt black tarnish with occasional silvery-grey wires amongst the mass. A very rich Native Silver from Broken Hill.
