Having seen Broken Hill material from so many old collections, it would seem very few specimens of crystallised Galena from the orebody appear to have survived. The specimen is from the late Milton Lavers Collection, probably the finest private Broken Hill collection ever assembled. This miniature displays intergrown, cubic metallic silver grey crystals measuring to 1.7 cm, whose corners are modified by octahedral faces. The Galena covers a light coloured matrix with Quartz.
